Jake McArthur

CEO of Carpentry Australia and Managing Director of Glencoe Group
With over two decades of experience, Jake is a pillar in the Australian carpentry industry. As the founder and CEO of Carpentry Australia, he maintains an unwavering focus on making the carpentry industry better for carpenters, builders and consumers. Jake is also the Managing Director of Glencoe Group, one of Victoria’s largest truss and frame manufacturers with three large production sites and over 80 staff members. What makes Jake so dedicated to the carpentry industry is the people—the hard-working carpenters who are passionate about what they do and have fun doing it.

Robert Brodie

Carpentry Teacher at Swinburne University
Robert has been a highly-skilled carpenter and joiner since 1980. His 40 years’ industry experience is lending itself to shaping the careers of future Australian carpenters. As a Carpentry Teacher at Swinburne University, Robert is training carpentry apprentices from High School VCAL through to qualified 4th-year apprentices. Robert was awarded an International Specialised Skills (ISS) Institute Fellowship on the future of carpentry training in Australia with his work published in 2016. What Robert enjoys most about carpentry is being able to work with timber and creating things that are connected to the environment.

Rob Gray

Rob Gray is driving innovation in contemporary residential construction. As the Managing Director of Graya™ Construction, Rob oversees the construction side of the company that specialises in high-end residential builds in Queensland. Graya™ Construction has received a number of accolades, including consecutive wins at the Brisbane and Queensland Housing and Construction Awards. Rob himself has received honours including being named one of Australia’s Top 100 Young Entrepreneurs in 2020. What makes Rob passionate about construction is seeing his company’s designs and concepts come to life and seeing the industry push the boundaries.

Sam McDonald

Business Development Manager - Residential Construction, Milwaukee Tool
Hailing from a family of tradespeople, Sam understands the pride you feel seeing the results of your hard work. He has 24 years’ experience in the industry and has been recognised for his work, including receiving a gold at the Master Builder of the Year Awards in 2011, for the South Island region of New Zealand. As the National Business Development Manager – Residential Construction at Milwaukee Tool, Sam is furthering the company’s commitment to the residential construction sector, working closely with the industry to offer trade-focused solutions to construction professionals.
